Snacks might be sardines, anchovies and padrón peppers, sandwiches and fried chicken — pairing fine wine with junk food is called the high-low approach. And it’s firmly in the mainstream now as Na Vina! has spawned tons of copycats, and their habit of Sharpie-ing names on glasses has been endlessly imitated. Still, no one in Moscow quite matches k9's seductive ease in serving champagne, Chardonnay, and Pinot Noir with hot dogs and fries (they even have their own slang).
